CD quality at 96 to 128kbps

Interesting, but the only application for this sort of thing is probably for portable devices. Considering that portable devices have historically been lacking in support for 'other' formats just goes to show that the format won't go very far.

Then again, I've just heard about it; so what do I know?

Their bibrate works different, but that company, On2 it's great. I don't really know about their audio stuff. But VP7 that is for videos is great. It really beats Xvid, thought, it is propietary. Part of Theora is based on VP3, and that's really old and just a small part.

Yes their VP7 looks amazing. Here something else I found:
