hi,
i'm looking for a portable cd\mp3 player with optical out. came someone recommend me a good one? i have my eye one Panasonic SL-CT800 CD/MP3 Player, and iriver imp-400, but i can't find out if it has optical or not. any help would be appricated. thanks.

To my knowlegde, no MP3/CD portables have a digital out.

I second, Mystyler. Nope...non of the current have optical output. Do you have any info for the newer model?

just got an email reply from audiocubes...the SL-CT800 have optical out. first one for a cd/mp3 player so they say. be out october first so i'll probaly get this one.

This could be dumb, but the optical might only work with CDs?

Oh, that may be true with the Japanese market model - but the U.S.-market version may be cheapened by including neither an optical-out nor a line-out at all.

that's true. i've heard that's what happens to some pcdp players. i really can't comprehend why this is done. but audiocubes sells the japanese version anyway.
