I have finally settled on the best configuration for the CS16. It is very bright in stock form and needs a warm source. Getting the correct tips and cable is essential. After a lot of experimentation this is what I am using: Sony NWZ A15 > Fiio A5 > Faaeal Hibiscus copper cable > Sony MH755 large tips. For me, this gives the best balance although the tonality is still quite cool.

I am with you on the CS16 and the VX. The barely warm CS16 with my q5k has details, precision, some wicked sharp vocals. Enough bass for me and I like more than less. That's interesting. The CS16 is a bright IEM and I also like the TRN VX which also seems to divide opinion. It has the same laser-like precision and detail of the CS16 and reveals so much.

I'm intrigued by the cs16 but when CCA get near the $100 territory, there's just too much competition. I'm happy to wait a bit and see if the price drops down.Just saw the retail price of CCA-CS16 on Lins???. Not sure if seller is banned but just to be safe.
USD$110That's moving into a very hotly contested price range. I hope they have the "right stuff" to bring on the fight.
It makes CA16 & C16 look quite cheap by comparison. When, and if, their C20 arrives, it'll probably be mid-to-high USD$100.
Not a good trend for KZ/CCA, imho.

IMHO, CKX is the successor to C10
- Similar sound signature
- More detail & resolution
- Has nuances missing in C10
- Flatter response curve
- More natural presentation at frequency extremes
- Complements DQ6's bolder signature with it's more delicate presentation
Note: Usage time: >200 hours
