Cayin Soul 170HA: A Beastly TOTL Vacuum Tube Headphone/Speaker Amplifier wth KT170

@Andykong anything can be done about UK SRP? We are quite used to US$1 to 1GBP price conversions in the UK for anything that is imported to the UK from other countries. So a US$7,500 product would have a SRP of approximately 7,500GBP. But the current price for this product is 8,990GBP which is approximately US$11,870 at the current exchange rate and approximately 60% more expensive than SRP. It is a great product in my opinion just a bit too expensive to buy in the UK when comparing to other countries. Currently, I can buy this product from Poland for approx. 7,250GBP (36,900 Polish złoty) and being part of EU Poland has import duties and VAT on par with the UK. So I just don't understand why the same product in the UK cost so much more. Thanks.

Thanks for flagging this. Looks like Cayin has stepped in and put this price gouging to rest. Hifonix price revised to £6500 🤣

Received my 170HA today. It was the highlight for me in Munich and I just couldn't resist getting one for myself. Since I'm listening a lot of 2ch lately I was a bit torn between getting the 170HA or 170i. I'm very glad to have gone with the 170HA. Although it "only" has 18W it can power my Cabasse Murano gloriously. Not only loud but also with superb control. Gonna post more impressions once I've spent some more time with the amp

Love it. I can't wait to hear one at CanJam. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying one of these as well.

Curious what Cayin's position is on this.

Was it Cayin that set the original UK price or Hifonix? Aseem from Hifonix blaming Cayin for a UK RRP of £8990 vs USA RRP $7500.

Something very weird going on. If it was an honest miscalculation by Cayin, that's fine. Interested to hear Cayin's side of this.

They need to make up their mind, price increased to £6900 now (from £6500 which was reduced from c9k this morning). 🤡

Plus is it that much better than the previous flagship? I saw a video from Munich High End where they had the 170HA and HA-300 mk2, he said it wasn't better but just a different presentation from one another.

People who have heard it and I trust it is much improved over HA-300 mk2 in technicalities, some went as far as saying it could be comparable to AIc-10. Plus 300b and Kt170 are very different sounding tubes so presentation will be different too.

I'll eat my shoes if it's as good as the AIC-10.:mans_shoe:

It depends a lot on what you are driving. Just like driving speakers, sensitive good speakers don't require a lot of power and it is the amp intrinsic performance that comes to light. Being more powerful doesn't equate to better but it can be different, and that can be very enjoyable.

The price is set by Cayin

We worked closely with Cayin this morning to correct and finalise the UK MSRP

So Cayin told you to change the price down from 8990 to 6500?

Then asked you a few hours later to actually put it up again slightly to 6900?
6500 is probably wholesale price lol.
