Cayin N6iii: Nothing is Impossible with Gen2 User-replaceable Audio Motherboard

Thumbs up from an analog guy! :beerchug:

I hope that is a hint that implies the E203 is not a typical ESS implementation, those who feel reluctant because we are rolling out an ESS Audio Motherboard instead of an AKM Audio Motherboard probably need to think twice before having a set idea about what the N6iii sounds when we offer an ESS implementation.
It's not the end of the world either, you'll roll out an akm board eventually, not that you can confirm but given your history with akm (n8, n30), i don't doubt it'll come

@ Andykong. Is it already known how high the amplifier power is? And when will it be available in Germany? Price already known? Maybe I'll buy it too.

Yes curious myself about the price of the new modules. The fact that it’s possible to swap them very fast and with no screws makes having multiple modules very tempting.

Probably 200-400, can't imagine it'll be cheaper than n6ii boards, but can't imagine much pricier either.
200-300 eur would be OK. But past that the price may be a bit of a stretch considering the dap itself is 1300usd. I guess we will have to wait and see :)

BTW, as I didn’t receive my N6iii yet, any additional impressions on the stock module? How are the people finding it?

I originally planned to reveal the specs once the product page was ready in a few days, but since the launch date is just around the corner and you’ve asked, let’s share it ahead of schedule.

As for the price, I’m not quite sure about what distributor in Germany has set. Considering VAT and other factors, the price vary depending on the location. Sorry about that
@Gold Fox may I ask why the NOS filter of the CS43198 is not supported?
Sorry, do you mean why we haven't added the NOS filter to N6iii's filter setting?

Thank you for the information. I like the performance data, 200 mW more for my DCA Noire X. Is the price in USD already known?

We are coordinating with the final pricing, should be decided in a few days
Yes. It is a good filter to have. I use it a lot is CS based devices.
Noted, I'll notify the engineer team and see if we can apply it to N6iii

Wow. Thank you. That would be great because this NOS filter is something unique that other manufacturers don't have implemented in their DAC chips. I don't know if it is real NOS or some kind of imitation but it usually sounds very natural in all the devices I have tested.
