Definitely one of my favorite things I got try out at Canjam!

I tried them out balanced with my M9 and it’s the best DAP I’ve heard with it. Tonally slightly warm with good dynamics and exceptional smoothness. There was no treble fatigue and sounds had a good natural decay to them. Not as holographic or crisp as some other TOTL DAPs (and Cayin music app was a bit finicky for me), but I value the listening enjoyment of the N6ii above any DAP I’ve heard so far.

I connected the N6ii and Chord Mojo the other day and it works perfectly with either a type-c to micro b usb cable or type-c to coaxial cable (for Mojo and Hugo2). No change of settings needed as Mojo was detected instantly.

Maybe try another cable or do a factory reset.

I tried again, and it works but only with cayin app. Spotify, apple music do not work. @Andykong

That's normal for Android devices. I wonder if UAPP works with an external DAC, off to try now.

It doesn't work for me either, if I had to guess I would say the Cayin music app takes over the external USB DAC as soon as its plugged in.

What does work OK though is the USB C to Coax adaptor, bitperfect to Hugo 2 and sounds great too.

yes thats possible.
unfortunately most of my dac do not have coax input, and dont have the C to coax as well
hope @Andykong could pass the info to the cayin enginering. the main reason i bought N6ii is to pair it with topaz. Cheers mate V

Cool, I've used Hiby music in the past on other DAPs and wasn't really a fan. What are your thoughts on Cayin music? I've used Neutron on my DX200 and do like it once you take the time to go through all the settings and customization options to get it looking halfway decent.

The Cayin player is pretty much the Hiby. Neutron is pretty good, but Im liking the Onkyo player a lot. N7 is nice too but it got stuck scanning on other daps.

Hi Bro, thx for advice, but sadly, currently i dont have 4.4 to 4.4.
im planning to use topaz internal dac because from my previous experience with wa8, i dont like the sound from 3.5 input from hugo2 to wa8, prefer the internal dac, so im thinking to keep using the internal dac of topaz. i saw the spec of cayin n6ii and it suppose to have usb audio out utilizing DTA.
i tried to use n6ii as transport with hugo2 and wa8 and still no go.
my dx220 (some noise clicking), huawei, lgv20, all of them working fine with topaz and other dac.
so im thinking maybe there is a way to switch on the usb audio out or maybe the usb out audio feature is not there yet.

The N6ii was a store demo unit. I connected it to my Hugo 2 using the Fiio CL06 and did not have any problem. You have to try another cable.

using cayin stock app im able to usb audio to external dac, but usb audio to ext dac from other app like spotify, apple music i dont hear any audio.

I have been obsessed with this combo for the last two weeks (Cayin N6ii + Phatlab Sassy Tube Amp + Senn HD660s). Very happy with N6ii performance thus far. It seems that the bugs that occurred to me when I first purchased the DAP do not turn up as frequently (still looking forward to a firmware update). Could there be an auto-scan function for music library as new songs are imported just for the sake of convenience? Overall, good job this time Cayin!
