I know people like the E02 with the Z1R, but what about the R01 with Z1R?

I've also been meaning to get a custom elysian acoustics Annihilator, but according to the manufacturer, he felt that the N8 would be a better pairing with it due to the power difference over the n6ii R01

Any thoughts?

In my experience the R01 is a great match for relatively neutral iems with relatively neutral note weight.. on the other hand, for iems with very specific characters like the Z1R, the E02 is a better match.. then there is the E01 in class A mode, which is excellent for super sensitive iems like the VE8.. finally, the A01 is just an overall very pleasant board for casual and easy listening, where you just enjoy the music and forget all the critical aspects.. 😊

Audio Essence in Switzerland... its the N6ii-Ti so the R01 comes as standard. I'm in Ireland so Switzerland is relatively local :)

Audio Essence is a great store, and if forced to pick I'll take Switzerland over Northern Jersey.

Yes Tom has been fantastic to deal with, very helpful and patient while I made my decision!

Only to live, I've lived in both, I'll take Switzerland, though I loved being to go into the City for concerts!

I'll be getting my N6ii-R01 on Friday, for use with my Denon AH-D9200 and my Focal Clear MG. Both relatively easy to drive so on that sense probably a good match with the R01. But if I would want to add a second board with a tad more detail and slam, which board would you advise as a good second?

I come from a FiiO M15 which I liked (but not loved) with a dual AK4499EQ. Something like that would be good, but then with a (much) more holographic representation. I found the FiiO M15 a bit too flat there. The A&K Kann Alpha also was a tad too neutral for me.

E02, definitely more power and slam, and ESS based.

So far I can only say that I am in love with the R01.. The match with the Focal Clear MG is fantastic.. So much that my Denon AH-D9200 will have to wait a while before I dive into that pairing..

But at the same time this also means that I decided to also start looking both an A02 and an E02 board to complement the R01. Anyone wants to sell theirs? By all means PM me :)

How do n3pro compared to N6ii + R01 and N6ii-Ti. I am curious to know your impressions. Thanks!
