My wife told me the Alabama method to season cast iron cookware:
 
Coat the item liberally in cooking oil or grease.  Place in a building that needs burning down.  Burn building.  Retrieve item.  Scrape off excess carbon.  Item is now seasoned and ready for use.

 Her Griswold #7 was seasoned that way, and the carbon scraping can still be seen.

How about some shots of everyone's cast iron collection. I have a few pieces myself and other than my sauce pans, I rarely use anything but cast iron anymore.
