I recently purchased the Etymotic Research ER4-P earbuds after much research here on head-fi. I love the earbuds, but am less than impressed by their case.

Any one got a good recommendation on a small earbud case? I tried searching the forum but didn't come up with anything good. I'd prefer something like the Shure earbuds come with or some small metal case to protect them against damage while traveling.

Thanks!

Get a nice eyeglass case.

I use a small round tupperware. Its waterproof, microwavable, and dishwasher safe.

I use the Shure hard case for my ER-4's. It's nicely sturdy and protective. The with-spool version is a good fit for ER-4's that have the old, colored (green or grey, not black) module in the middle, but doesn't quite fit the new black module. The without-spool version would fit the all-black ER-4's.

Shure also has a new slightly larger oval carrying case which I haven't tried.

Where did you find the shure cases? I've been looking on ebay but haven't seen any come up. In the mean time....I think I'll join the crowd and dig up an Altoids tin. I did see this one today which looked nice...but seems like an Altoids tin would work just as well.

Bought them directly from Shure. The oval one's apparently not ready yet, but you can buy the round ones directly off that page I linked to.
