I currently have a blue point special on my turntable and really enjoy the detail and 'top end' of the cartridge.  
 
I'm now looking for a significant upgrade.   Turntable is Gyrodec fitted with SME IV and I like a detailed and fast sound with good top end extension. 
 
Any recommendations please??

You're fishing in the wrong pond for very expensive high end phono cartridge advice--especially as a new member with limited privileges and forum access.

Bob, take a look at an AT33PTG. You'd have to get one from Japan. IMNSHO, it's the best low-cost cart on the market. ~$500-$600.

Many thanks.   Yes I had thought about one of those!      Also tempted to spend more if the improvement was substantial - maybe $2K to $3K USD.

Consider a Lyra that fits your budget and your sonic expectations. The difference is worth it.
