Which would be would be the better choice or interconnect for the Alessandro MS-Pro's. I have a Jolida JD-100 cdp (great highs, not bright) and will get a PPA soon opa627. These cost almost the same and I am cocerned about brightness which is why I'm undecided. Other than treble prominace/extension, is there another difference between these two cables in sound?

Have you hear the exact combination of components yet? If you haven't then you should be patient and wait for all of them and for them to burn-in a decent amount before you worry about cables.

System synergy is something that can't be predicted. You have decent enough interconnects to start with. Find out what you like and dislike about the combination and tailor it with interconnects (not always possible but usually can be done).

I havn't heard the NR but I've got the Cross and am not to impressed with it. I've got three other cables that I like alot more. I've used all of them with the RS-1 and have got the HP-2's now. The words that come to mind are dark, a little slow, and sometimes muddy sounding for the Cardas Cross. I don't no about the PPA amp or the Jolida but both the Kimber KCAG and the Lat International IC200's I've got go really well with my tube stuff.

Hi,
I have a pair of each and can compare them for you......
There is not a huge difference between them, but very noticeable differences never the less.
The Cross is more to the warmer side with fuller bass and midrange, and is a bit more forgiving. The soundstage when using speakers is nice & wide.

The NR is very fast, open, & very detailed but could push your system over the edge if it's on the verge of being too bright. The soundstage when using speakers is slightly narrower than the Cross, but deeper and the images are more well defined.

Thanks, I know exactly what you mean. It's almost like tubes (cross) verses solid state (NR's), eh?

I agree with the former poster...
The Cross is a very warm cable and the Neutral Reference is very revealing. From the feedback we get...
Neutral Ref is what you are looking for.

Tom, I would bet that compared to the KCAG, anything will sound dark
