I've had my Sennheiser HD600 headphones for a little more than three years. I thought that either the headphones weren't as good as I'd originally thought or that my hearing was deteriorating. After getting the Cardas cable I realize that the stock cable though very good when I got the phones as far as my "mind's ear" recalls has deteriorated. Possibly this is caused by oxidation of the cable.
With the new Cardas cable attached to my Sony CA80ES player through a Headroom Home amp the sound is wonderful. A friend who has the HD580 mentioned the same phenomena as I had noticed without being prompted.
The changes include: a noticeably wider "headstage"; all of the sounds are more distinct ("fast"); the treble is very clear (no "vail"); the bass is much more pronounced and well defined.
The Cardas cable has turned my system into the type of sound system I'd always hoped to have but only came somewhat close to before when I first got the headphones.
I paid $140 including shipping. It was the best investment dollar for dollar on my system I've ever made.
