I am kinda noob to electronics.. Does the voltage of a capacitor matter if you choose one that is overvoltage? Say I need a 50v capacitor but I buy a 200v one or something.. Will it have negative effects on the sound>?

Thank you

If the capacitors are for a power supply they will have to be higher voltage that the battery:
If you use 9V they will have to be >9V etc...

If you use 9V and 35V capacitors there won't be any problem except of the size.

I mean like capacitors to help audio quality... like the lampucera board, where they are replacing 4 of the capacitors with 150pf ones.. they didnt tell me what voltage. But i search some up on ebay and it says 500v... haha would that be too much.

Generally the voltage tolerance of the cap doesn't matter as long as it's higher than what you're using it for; I'd say at least 20% higher.

Now size of the capacitor within the same product line does matter, especially with aluminum electrolytic caps, generally the large the cap, the higher the ESR, which is good.
