Yellow pad? Yuk. I wouldn't touch them. They look quite dirty or he had dyed hair. Of course, you could change the pad, but kind of kills the deal.

they're hd414 pads.

Those look like the Senn414 yellow pads. They are easy and cheap to replace with your choice of Grado pads (comfies, bowls, flats, Senn414 and even the C-pads). With a good re-cable (which they are practically screaming for), they should sound fantastic.

You'll have to pay another 30$ if you buy Grado pads, so it's not an incredible deal. Also, considering the condition of the pads, I would say the guy doesn't take care very well of his gear, which is a pretty big turn-off.

Oops, it's the flats that are 35$, sorry for my mistake. Bowls are 15$ on TTVJ site.

Aha so those are Senn pads.

I actually got 2 pairs of flat pads from takefive when they had them on sale for 11$ to fool around with my 325s(didn't like the results). But yeah they're usually 30$ here.

meh I guess I'll pass on them then.

Depends on what pads you get (see my above reply). Depends also on who is doing the re-cable (yourself or paying someone else to do it).

"cuts in and out" doesn't necessary have to be a cabling problem. If the voice coil lead is broken off the pad but still touching, it can show the same sympton.

for $25 it still might be worth a try though.
