This is embarrassing. It's now almost 2am and I can't stop listening to Avril Lavigne with the Grado RS-1.

Either something is wrong with me or something is very right with the RS-1.

Go away, you skater boi.

Just kidding,

Even though they are relatively simple, her songs have catchy riffs and lyrics. Sometimes I get sucked in by them too

Errrm, hmmm, the reason I say I'm embarrassed is that I'm older than the probable median age here. I went to high school in the eighties.

Young whelp, it is 'sk8ter boi' not 'skater boi.'

Anyway, thanks for not laughing too much.

A lot of the head-fiers at meets are around your age at least, although i dunno if that's representative of head-fi in general or not.

I try to avoid 1337sp34k whenever possible, thanks

The first step is admitting that you have a problem....

the truth is i got some bjork and evanescene because i thought i just cant judge music without hearing it first. also christina aguilera and avril lavigne. and when i hear them there is just nothing special about it, i didn't enjoy it at all. now i'm not trying to diss it but its just my position. i guess i am media proof.

okay sorry for ruining the thread, kept discussing.

I like Christina Aguilera too.

The older I'm getting I find that I'm enjoying music I didn't before, but still like all of the music I listened to while younger.

This results in an eclectic collection.

Don't worry about ruining this thread. It was already a disaster by the first post.

Gaahh, I'm going to go buy a Hilary Duff CD.

Someone please slap me upside the head.

I'm listening to "Let Go" and "Under My Skin."

Combined, they have eleven songs rated 4 or 5 stars in my iTunes library. I use the ratings to determine which songs are on my iPod 30GB, which carries about 1000 Apple Lossless songs.

They sound pretty good on the AD2000 or DT880, too. It's just that listening to AL with the RS-1 makes me feel like I'm 10 years younger.

(Eek, now I'm using the TONGUE smilie. Next thing you know I'll start posting in pink text.)

Avril isn't THAT bad...I mean she DID perform at Metallica's Tribute. I'm addicted to listening to Norah Jones on my HD555's.

I know, I've got the same thing with Ciara. It just has that sparkle, maybe it's because she has an hypnotic voice, or maybe I'm in love with her

. I actually hated r&b/hip-hop before I listenend to ciara, now I'm listening to missy, de la soul, dj premier, snoop, the neptunes and others.
I like some songs of avril, but I could control myself to not buy her cd.
