I'm following directions shown here
http://www.saunalahti.fi/cse/EAC/

for "program used for compression," I've got FLAC files listed after browsing
c:\program Files\FLAC\FLAC frontend.exe

for command line, I typed the example in the link. Is there a way to paste this line into EAC?? Are there spaces I need to observe?

Also, my EAC version v0.95 prebeta5 must be different b/c my version does not show "Offset" options.

I did what I could, but EAC is hanging up right after copying the .wav, not able to compress to FLAC.

There must be an easier way??

The program used for compression should be flac.exe.

Mine is like this:
[checked] Use external program for compression
Passing Parameter Scheme: User Defined Encoder
Program used for compression: C:\Program Files\FLAC\flac.exe
Additional Command Line Option: -8 -T "artist=%a" -T "title=%t" -T "album=%g" -T "
[unchecked]Add Id3 Tag

Try this:
-8 -T "artist=%a" -T "title=%t" -T "album=%g" -T "date=%y" -T "tracknumber=%n" -T "genre=%m" %s

Is there any way/plugin to control the volumes of the left and right channels independantly in foobar or patchmix?

As far as I've found there are only balance controls, which work differently.

Thanks for the info.
Where did you download FLAC/flac.exe file?
I downloaded the latest download file from FLAC website, and all I have is the FLAC frontline.exe on my computer for some reason..

Well, that's strange. flax.exe must be on there somewhere, because the gui uses it. I'd run a search for it.

Tried uninstall/reinstall of FLAC and did a search but no FLAC/flac.exe file found. Could someone link me to a FLAC download that has flac.exe file they are currently using with EAC successfully?

Also for the command line, where are the spaces between letters and are they important?

Try this version, works fine for me. It's from the FLAC site, if you got yours somewhere else.

BTW, you're not searching for FLAC/flac.exe. That's just the folder location, the name of the file is just flac.exe. Anyways, it should be in the same folder as flac frontend.exe.

And I'm a bit confused about what you're asking with the command line. If you just cut/paste the one I posted and use that it'll work, compress to level 8, and include all the tags.

-8 -T "artist=%a" -T "title=%t" -T "album=%g" -T "date=%y" -T "tracknumber=%n" -T "genre=%m" %s

Succsss at last! Thaks to all who helped.

Now a new problem. When I converted all my apple lossless files via dbpoweramp to FLAC, all the FLAC files automatically got organized into folders by artist name.

When I just EAC/Flac'd a CD (some songs only), no folder for this artist was created. FLAC files were put into same location as my other folders w/ FLAC, but Foobar won't put the flac files without artist folder on the playlist when I choose this location. To get these files to be put there, I had to manually create a folder, type in artist name, then drag flac files into it.

Is there an automatic way to do this folder thing from EAC?

I've been wondering much the same thing, but haven't noticed any handy option yet.

of course there is, you can work with magics not only for filenames but also directories.. like for example %A\%B\%T - %S..
