I've been reading for quite some time, but this is my first post here.

I have been researching turntables for the past week or so, and I think I have narrowed it down to two, but I can't decide on which.

First is the Music Hall MMF-2.1 (Goldring Elan Cartridge), and the next is the Project Debut II (Ortofon OM-5E Cartridge). I am wondering if someone could help me decide between the two, or suggest something better in the same price range.

Thank You.

I've owned an MMF-1 and after seeing the 2.1, i'd say not to bother with anything by music hall under the MMF-5.

If you are serious about vinyl, just get a rega p3. Its a big bite at first, but you won't feel the need to upgrade for a long time. I had a p2 a while back and still regret selling it.

I believe both of the tables you mentioned are pretty much the same table built in the Czech Republic. Another suggestion would be the Goldring GR-1 that Todd sells. It is a rebadged Rega P2. Look for Todd The Vinyl Junkie in the Head-Fi ads on the home page.
