So yeah, I dont have the cash to spend on crazy stuff and earbuds are very portable for me. I've read the reviews and opinions on here about these and it's not really positive but here: I listen to rap and R&B so the bass on these really help (listening to a lot of Jodeci lately so it's not really bassy) but like others have said, the bass is muddy and drowns me in it

. The mids and highs are alright but seemed recessed. I'm running these out of a not-up-to-you-guy's-standards portable CDP unamped and all that so I guess sound quality wouldnt matter. I know people would recommend the Panasonic RJ350 or something like that but these and my other choice are available in stores near me so yeah...

The other option are the low-end Sony MDR-E828LP. They don't have a lot of bass to my liking though. I forgot what they sound like since a little dust got in them and I fux0red everything [face_plain]. Thye look better than the Koss too. I always seem to get some earwax when I pull my Koss earbud out

. The 4ft length cord compared to the Sony's 3 is a plus also.

So yeah, anyone want to help me decide? Any questions to help narrow it down or whatever helps. Later.

IMHO you should get the KSC75 instead. What they lack in portability they EASILY more than make up for in sonic quality.

You might even save some $$. provantage has them for ~$15 shipped. I'm willing to bet thats just a hair cheaper than the spark plug.

IMHO any canal phone below the e2c just does not offer enough isolation to justify their (typically) poor cost -to- performance ratio. Especially when you consider that the KSC75 sound so much better than canalphones costing 8-9 times as much... IMHO of course.

Just because your funds are limited, doesnt mean you cant enjoy very good sound quality... Im listening to a KSC75 amped through my Gmoy, my source is a 1996 Sony portable CD player - line output... while my MS2 and DT770 sit quietly idle. Some dreamtheater songs sound HUGE through an amped KSC75.

IMHO the KSC75 dont need an amp to sound good, but they (like every other can I have heard) certainly sound better with an amp.

they can easily be modded for a custom sound / fit.

heck dont listen to me.... Just do a search for KSC75... see what others are saying...

My oppinions of course.

Provantage for $15 shipped, eh? I might have to get myself 3 pairs, one for me, one for my sister(or brother in NJ depending on some factors), and one for a girl I like. And that's a very nice price, BTW. I can live with that.
