So like the title says, I can't between the two. I've read amazing reviews on both, so I am hoping the audiophiles here can help me out. I would like to add that this would be my first pair of real headphones.
I will be mainly using the headphones on my computer for listening to music, skype, and gaming. I listen to various types of music, but mainly metal and forms of electronic. I will also be using them to listen to music on my phone.

OK. I can't really see myself using Grados for skype (too colored) or gaming (poor soundstage), so M50 is the better choice of the two. Also consider buying M30 now and 60i later, if you really like metal. Maybe have a look at Creative Aurvana Live too.

The straight version is. If you get the coiled, it's not as long. Definitely too long still for portable use though.

It's manageable, I made it sound like it was much too long. Nah, it's just a little bit too long so you'll have to put some cable in your pocket or something, it's just really annoying to me :P
