I have HD-650's with a Cardas cable. I also have DT770, i think the 60 ohm version is it?

I search for new headphones:

1. Something high-end, easy to drive, easy to use with various devices.

2. It should reproduce music realistically / accurately. (To me, this includes a natural wide soundstage)

3. For some reason my ears, high freqs more often than not sounds very harsh. (I oughta stay away from bright cans)

4. Has to be generally accepted that using them stock is more than good enough. (I don't want another pair of headphones that people keep telling me I gotta add this and that...) I wanna ENJOY them not worry about them.

Please help?

The Beyerdynamic DT250 (80 ohm) should suit you well. TheSoundstage is good for a closed headphone but nothing great compared to some open ones. Midrange is not recessed like it is in some closed phones as well.

As much as I love the AD700, they can be considered a little bright in the upper highs. They are smooth overall though. The soundstage is unbeatable though (especially front to back depth) for the price.

I'd recommend Audio-Technica ATH-ESW9. I heard these at a meet recently, and was very impressed... especially by their smooth highs! Perfect for running out of smaller sources, too.
