CanJam SoCal 2024 Impressions Thread (September 28-29, 2024)

I just want to give a shoutout to Nick from HIFIFORALL (HFA). He has created the Dahlia. One of the most comfortable, insane sounding headphones I have come across. Takes notes from the HD800's in relation to comfort and sound, then kicks it up a notch with it's beautiful industrial looks. But seriously, by far the most comfortable set of fans I've ever placed on my head. He's taking preorders now for shipment in the coming weeks.

Really enjoyed my time at CanJam, but this booth took the cake for me.
I got my preorder in yesterday! Super excited to get my hands on the final version. Appreciate any additional insights you can share.
I had no intentions of buying a new set of headphones anytime soon but yesterday I went from never hearing about, or hearing, the HFA Dahlia to putting in a pre-order in under 12 hours.

The glowing, if few, impressions here - Tyler of Tyler's Eclectic has also been super positive on these in comments I've seen from him - Combined with a great looking form factor and build, big focus on comfort and weight and being able to use my ZMF pad collection...I went for it. I'm really excited to try them.

*Edit - I'll add that Nick from HFA was also very generous with his time and really helpful answering a bunch of questions I had over email prior to ordering.

It was a Zach Attack!

Always a blast hanging out with the ZMF crew and the ETA crew! Super stoked to hear more JDS labs Element 4! ZMF room killed it this year! It was my “safe place” lol

Lol I wondered how Zach gets everything done. He was everywhere at once!

Same here man, the ZMF room was my recharge station this year. Can’t wait for the next one!

He finally managed to clone himself, eh? I guess we'll be releasing 75 new designs at CanJam Dallas now.

Nick was super nice. I tried the headphones out on a whim because he had Nitsch amps on the table that I wanted to try out with my headphones. Nick immediately started talking to me about comfort, and told me to try on a pair. At that moment I was sold. I was absolutely floored at the level of comfort, then started the music and I was blown away.

I asked Nick what his inspiration was. He said he really liked the original HD800’s. I’d say he nailed it and then some. He then went on to mention looks, and he wanted something that looked good ones desk. Also nailed it.

Anyway, I don’t have the funds right now to buy a pair unfortunately, but when I do, it’s happening. Also considering selling some gear to buy a pair. You will love them.

That’s FANTASTIC!

Also, it was great to meet you and chat with you outside of Houston’s on Saturday night, as we were all waiting to be seated.

Yeah man! Wish we could have had a big table together! Would have been way cooler to properly hang and chat

We just figured you didn't want to hang with us. It's alright

It was good meeting you. That picture is fantastic though. Love it.

Dahlia is probably my favorite headphones at the show after hearing them! CeeTee told me they were a must listen, I’m glad I took his advice! The other top headphones for me were the Skedra dual driver headphones and the ZMF Bokeh opens

Also, Nick and his wife were super kind, wish I had more time to hangout with them and get to know them better… maybe see if they can do a livestream or video down the road🤔

Not at all, man! @Echo42987 (Nick) is just given ya a hard time. We all were running on fumes. I hadn’t eaten anything for 12 hours at that point either and it was a busy, busy day.

🫶 that’s a relief ha! Also, I was along for the Justin ride lol kinda like getting caught in an undertow… sometimes it’s smarter to go with the current until it runs its course ha. Justin’s home setup is insane by the way!
Here’s a pic of just one of 4 systems he has in his house 👀
