CanJam Singapore 2022 Impressions Thread

I highly recommend trying the D12 if you have the chance. Probably only reason why I hadn't got it immediately is that I'm really enthusiastic about the new Sennheiser IE600 and would like to listen to it before I pull either trigger.

Not heard the UM Indigo (not sure if Jaben had it on demo, maybe I missed it) so I shall refrain from commenting on it.

Between KK and the EXT, I would say KK is more U shaped vs EXT that to my ears sound more W shaped. Didn't compare them side by side but on memory I thought the EXT showed more technical nuances but Khan had better dynamics. Imaging capabilities were about equal.

My pick for that price range is probably still the Empire Ears Odin or Legend EVO, but I found myself inclined to EE tuning more often than not. Legend EVO has a very unique bass presentation if you're interested in that from the bone conduction driver.
Cheers. Interesting thoughts. Yeh EVO excellent bass and i liked the mids tuning and technicalities. But the almost non existent treble was a deal breaker so had to sell it.
Fingers crossed on the next one from EE..

I would like to thank Head-Fi for hosting this show once again in Singapore. Its a great honour to be a part of it even just as an attendee. It is such a change of pace from day to day life and frankly, the past 2 years as a whole. Its nice to socialise, be around and share a room with other like minded people. I even managed to see some people who I have only been able to see on my phone screen while watching reviews.

Special mention to @sidrpm for letting me have that cool ass red Vannuys box. Now all that is left is for Sony to come through for my IER-Z1R to put in that box.
Thanks for visiting my exhibit. That red color was a great choice mate.

Finally I found a travelling case for my gear at my firat CanJam ever.

The special thing is VanNuys' Singapore distributor himself came to CanJam with brandnew stocks and new models that are rarely seen locally. Case hunters may want to check this out.

I tried some IEMs and so far I'm really impressed with Vision Ears EXT, Oriolus Trailli, U12t, Acoustune HS2000MX. I also demoed See Audio Yume and Blessing 2 Dusk and I think I understand why they have a really solid fan base. This is the first time I tried these models and I like them all.

Personally the thing I love the most so far is trying the Cayin C9 for the first time. I really enjoy the tube sound, beautiful bass and smooth. What a pity that it is only for pre-order. If anyone is interested you may check it out.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my exhibit for VanNuys and also trying the Acoustune HS2000MX. New chambers will come in toward end-April/early May, so do keep a look out for socials at Acoustune Club Singapore FB page and WiredForSoundAudio on IG.

I am really glad to attend the biggest and most happening audio show in Singapore again, after several postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kudos to Head-Fi team, all the fellow audiophiles and manufacturers who made CanJam Singapore 2022 an unforgettable one.

When I watched Jude’s video, he showcased the Advar and said it was Meze’s new flagship, but I just learned it retails for $699, so no, not a flagship.

Yeah their flagship is still the Meze Penta I think. (which is pretty meh).

That was a great read, thanks for that @yong_shun! :relaxed:

Finally recovering from all of the travel, back here in the States, but it's a bittersweet homecoming. For me, the very best part of CanJam has always been seeing old friends and making new friends. This year was no exception, and I find myself missing people already.

Keep those impressions coming y'all! :v: I know this might sound funny, but I'm super envious of you guys being able to go around listening to everything. Working a show and attending a show are two very different experiences, so I rarely get to hear anything at CanJam.

That said, I did follow my tradition of getting in one - and only one - audition at the show. It was Jomo Audio's Concept GT. I don't know how much can be said about it at the moment, as it is a prototype, and may be subject to change before its official launch... but I found it to be a ridiculously good implementation of a differentiated-driver multi-way IEM. I can't wait to hear the final version! :relaxed:

Yeah, kudos to the guys who worked to put up a good show at Canjam. Singapore is a small place, would not need a Canjam to visit the usual suspects and have that same access to the gear on show. But having the principals like Rob Watts, the VE guys, etc on hand to share the drive, rationale, motivations behind their products was an invaluable experience. Many 🙏🙏 🙏 from the bottom of my ❤️...

We missed out on CanJam! 😭 Originally, we planned to have an indirect presence by having a retailer help us exhibit our models (including the latest prototype of the VULKAN), but we were negatively impacted by the lockdowns in China the last few weeks and sadly our shipment reached Singaporean shores only yesterday. Highly disappointing.

I heard about this and I am sad that I do not have a chance to try those interesting models. I will head down to SAM Audio soon to have an audition!

No. DX320 unfortunately was not there. The unit shown is the DX300. The 320 missed its boat from China.
Yes, it's unfortunate that the Shenzhen lockdown held up the DX320, and caused a bottleneck with the logistics channel. A missed opportunity for sure but we're expecting the DX320 in Singapore very soon. Look out for the news!

You are invited to check out Cayin HA-300MK2 Direct Heated Triode Tube Headphone Amplifier, N8ii Dual Nutube DAP, C9 BAL tube portable amplifier and HA-6A EL34/KT88 switchable Tube Headphone Amplifier at Zeppelin booth. This is the debut event of our new flagshp HA-300MK2 and the first public demonstration of N8ii at Asian. Please drop by Booth B7 & B8 (Main Hall, Level 1) with your beloved headphones or IEMs, we are looking forward to your sharing and impression.

Congratulations on the HA-300Bmk2 and the N8ii this Canjam. Feedback has been spectacular and we're still getting post-Canjam visits to Zepp for more audio indulgence. Singapore missed you this time, Andy.
