EarSonics - Blade
I'm running short of adjectives. These were solid metal, matte black, diminutive but weighty. Lovely balanced sound from 10BA drivers. 12000RMB. If you're looking for top quality, buy-them-and-you're-done IEMs, these are well worth a listen. Liked them a lot.

Quick correction, Blade is not a 10BA IEM (that's the grace in universal and EM10 in custom) but an hybrid :

There is also Blade higher end cousin's, Stark (1390€)

Are you sure you didn't listen to the Stark? That would match the price better and also is their TOTL hybrid. The Blade is a 3 driver IEM while the Stark is a 5 driver, both with DD as bass driver and rest BA. For sure interesting to hear how you liked them compared with the PP8! Any more thoughts are highly welcome.

EDIT: From the pic, it looks like it is silver and thus the Stark. The Blade is more of a bronze type color.

Hmm...well it was in a stand marked Blade which was what I had to go on, in terms of model definition. Color-wise, although it looks silver here, it was matte black or at least appeared to be. I'll investigate when I get a chance.

Edit - I happened to have the photos on hand and had others I could look at. It's silver so it is, indeed, the Stark. I'll edit the original post.

Whatever I heard, it was a nicely balanced presentation. A similar type of signature to the PP8 but soundstage was nowhere near as pronounced and overall not as resolving or well defined. While I have heard IEMs which do a wonderful job (and some that do a remarkable job for the price) I have not yet heard anything which ticks as many boxes as the PP8 for me. This was the reason I bought them, having heard the upper level options from Empire Ears and 64Audio. The Fourte came close but there's just something about InEar's IEM that nudges it ahead - for me.

Cheers for that and good to hear what aspects have the pp8 ahead still. They are the type of criteria I am highly partial to as well.

Roger that on the possible Stark or Blade. Price also hints to Stark but very strange they had them in a Blade stand.

Those who tried the Hedd. What was the setup in terms of DAC and amp. I haven't heard anything that comes close to HE1 in terms of realistic sense of 3D space. I'm really interested.
It is hard to explain in words... HEDD does not sound like an e-stat, dynamic or planar. I listened to it with Chord Dave. It is pleasant, soft and airy sounding, not harsh... I would say it was an enjoyable listen. Definitely a good surprise at the show. Nothing like He1 lol imo. Here is a pic I took with the prototype.

Anyone had more impressions on the Hiby R8?

It was awesome seeing and meeting everyone in Shanghai last weekend!

We were swamped with showgoers, so there wasn't a lot of time to visit other booths, but here are some pictures from the weekend (Part 1):

IMG_5728a_Square.jpg IMG_5737a_Square.jpg
Shanghai has one of the longest operating maglev systems around --- just incredibly smooth and quick: 16 minutes from Pudong Airport to city center!

IMG_5741a_Square.jpg IMG_5750a_Square.jpg
A view of the Marriott from street level; it's just a stone's throw away from the packed Peoples' Square.
Conveniently, there's a Luckin Coffee located within the building right next to McDonald's. This place is really making a push to supplant Starbucks in China.
Their app order only, cash-less business model is both fascinating and convenient. We needed a lot of coffee to get us through the weekend, and being able to order off the smartphone beforehand and directly waltz inside to pick it upon arrival is such a godsend!

IMG_5755a_Sqaure.jpg IMG_5758a_Square.jpg
AURIS was there showing off its portable sub-brand EarMen. It only had machined shells to display for their tiny smartphone-compatible DAC, but it's using the ES9281 PRO, which is an exciting new low-power codec DAC from ESS. They also had the Donald DAC and TR-amp on hand.

IMG_5759a_Square.jpg IMG_5761a_Square.jpg
SpinFit was there showing off its fully refreshed product lineup, featuring fully reformulated mostly medical grade silicone materials to maximize comfort.
The new generation of tips is much softer and more supple than before.
(Full Disclosure: DUNU is a major distributor of SpinFit products, and we utilize their tips on our products as well.)
Rebecca at @RHA Team was next door, and just an absolute pleasure to chat with! Their planar CL2 flagship is extremely enjoyable and as always feature great ergonomics.
Really could've used their new airplane Bluetooth adapter during that plane ride too!

IMG_5764a_Square.jpg IMG_5763a_Square.jpg
Had a lengthy conversation with @Antonio Meze at the Meze booth --- we talked about how each of these brands has passionate people pouring so much into each and every single product. Couldn't agree more! The care and detail Antonio puts into the supremely comfortable Empyrean (probably the most comfortable headphones around?) and the form-fitting shapes of the RAI Solo and Penta really speak to his acumen and passion as an industrial designer, and all of Meze's products feature a gentle, easy-to-like signature that reflects upon the brand's philosophy of lifestyle. Just great stuff!

IMG_5767a_Square.jpg IMG_5769a_Square.jpg
UM's titanium clad, directly metal-sintered additively manufactured shells look even better with a veneer of gold. The Mirage, at its price point is super enjoyable to listen to as well! Of course, the rest of their lineup, while more costly, is just as appealing from both enjoyability and technical performance.

IMG_5770a_Square.jpg IMG_5774.a_Squarejpg.jpg
Joseph Mo's new venture Metal Magic Research had an array of fascinating products, including the Homunculus and Gae Bolg.
The booth was too busy to get a good listen, though.

IMG_5778a_Square.jpg IMG_5779a_Square.jpg
Vision Ears Elysium. Didn't get a chance to listen. They look amazing though.
Shuoer's TAPE, with its low voltage electret drivers, are a nice deal. Shells are much more comfortable than they look.
Their EJ07 stole the spotlight though. Really enjoyable sound.

IMG_5780a_Square.jpg IMG_5782a_Square.jpg
Moondrop KXXS. No need to state more. Blessing 2 was very enjoyable, as was the S8.

IMG_5786a_Square.jpg IMG_5784a_Square.jpg
Softears showed off its new Truii. Super fascinating shape, and interesting technology inside.

Part 2:

IMG_5794a_Square.jpg IMG_7083a.jpg
Obligatory visit to FOCAL's booth to listen to the Utopia and Stellia (via the dCS Bartok, no less!).
While they weren't direct inspirations, our new flagship LUNA's driver is constructed in similar fashion to these headphone counterparts.

IMG_7075a.jpg IMG_7081a.jpg
Perhaps that's why this guy decided to A/B the LUNA against his own Stellia?

We had a great show --- it's too bad we didn't get to speak to more people.
Huge thanks to all the people who made it possible! It must've been a ton of work!
@third_eye , @Frank I , @jude --- thanks for stopping by the booth!

@DUNU-Topsound How lovely to see your impressions and non-competitive support of other brands and products! Says much about the company and the person responsible for the post!
