Do I look handsome with my hd800s lol

I wonder how the SR-X9000 will sound on eksonic diy T2.
Someone should make this happen as it’s so rare to have both this item on show.
It sounds like a junior HE-1.
Honestly I wasnt that impress with the T2 with other electrostatic ear speakers till I tried 9000X

I also ab 9000 with my Limited 300, which is actually clearer with almost the same bass. 9000 is warmer and darker than Limited300 and I believe the thicker pads of 9000 gives more reverb and mid range rumble.

Well, folks, it's been a very long and emotional week as we had to put one of our cats to sleep quite unexpectedly. I finally got around to posting the remainder of my CanJam impressions in my dedicated thread. These cover estats and some odds and ends. Cheers.

Would be very interested if someone can compare Eksonic Aeras and ZOTL Z10e. Heard many good things about both amps, and they are in the same price range. Too bad Z10e didn't appear at Canjam...
The LTA Z10e was indeed at the Audeze booth driving a pair of their CRBN headphones. Based on my limited exposure to both amps, I'd buy the Aeras if I only wanted to drive estats. Bear in mind that the Z10e can also drive non-estat cans, whereas the Aeras cannot. I auditioned a standard Z10 with my Susvara several months ago. Nothing special for the money, IMO, and too bulky and hot to boot. On the flip side, build quality is superb, and it didn't sound bad by any means. Bass was a bit soft with the Susvara; it might be a better pairing for more efficient headphones.

Yes, thanks to all those who have taken the time to post their impressions, photographs and videos. I seem to have missed a great show...
Very much looking forward to CanJam London which, I am sure, will be spectacular!

Exactly my thoughts.

Many thanks for everyone’s contribution. It enables all of us who cannot be there to at least get a feel of the show. Congratulations to all the organizers and exhibitors for their hard work in putting this together.

I’m also too far to be able to attend in NYC. But it does seem like it was a great show. Hopefully I’ll be able to attend London, where at least I’m a bit closer... I’d like to volunteer to participate and help if there’s an opportunity.

I do have a couple of questions:

Are the Meze 109 open-back, closed-back or both options will be available? (From the SQ impressions I read, I’d love a closed-back)

Can anyone elaborate on the BGVP NE5? I’m looking for the unicorn in that price bracket. I’ve been eyeing the Variations, FH5/FH7. Different signatures, I know, but I don’t have access to trying any so I’m kind of looking for the best fidelity around that tier.

Cheers all and thank you!

I'm sorry to hear that. Not too long ago we had to put down a cat barely a year old because we made the mistake of letting a Stargazzer Lily into the house. It only took a tiny bit of the plant to destroy the cats kidneys. Most people are unaware that all lilies are toxic to cats and some are 100% lethal. I'm sorry for your loss.

I too, am sorry for your loss. I know how much they become part of the family and appreciate the emotional turmoil you have experienced, having had our beloved cat put to sleep last year after many happy years.

The headphones that were at CanJam were a very advanced prototype but a prototype nonetheless. The prototype was open backed and the folks at Meze did not give anyone a release date.

The Z10e has plenty of power and drives all my phones with ease and bass is very good. Of course it will get warm, it is a tube amp but for me, not hot. I can put my hand on the top after it has been on for a few hours and leave it there, no issue.

Just to be clear, the Z10(e) is a very fine product. I was simply stating the reasons why I wouldn't purchase it for my own use. Obviously, the Z10e is a more versatile amp than the Aeras, although I'd still choose the latter if driving estats were the sole intended usage of the amp. The Z10(e) does have a remote, while the Aeras does not, if that's a consideration. The Z10e also has multiple inputs, whereas the Aeras has only one (balanced) input.

Just want to say that I was told, by the gentleman behind the Meze table, that the 109 were expected to be released June/July with a $650-$700 price point. Of course Covid and wars could change that but I just wanted to pass along what I was told.

NE5 has a massive soundstage and presentation for the price, super fun to listen to and super energetic everything sounds big, sometimes a bit artificial but super enjoyable.

Cons: Its in the massive side lol, it's really big.
Definitely worth the price of $499

My biggest regret of Canjam was not asking the guys at audio 46 if they had a cash show special on this item. Really want it now.
