I also picked up a Dunu Hulk MMCX cable with the plug adapters that include 2.5mm, 3.5mm and 4.4mm. They had run out of the MMCX version at the show so they'll ship from California tomorrow. Show special was $249 instead of $299.

And I thought I was the only one to order. Mine will also be shipped. It was sold out. However on my way back I thought why I bought $249 cable for my $249 JVC

If you're an electrostatic headphone fan -- or interested in hearing an impressive electrostatic headphone system -- check out the corsonus exhibit. I heard their amp driving the STAX SR-009 and was mighty impressed.

In the exhibitor list it says "Corsunus" not "Corsonus" but I can't find anything about them with either spelling, and that picture is cropped so I can't see any cards either :frowning2:
I'm most interested, looks expensive but only 2 tubes, so it may be a hybrid?

... and DO NOT forget, two floors above the showroom on 8th floor at Marriott there is a food court area with a buffet :D You have to ask for it specifically cause they will just sit you down at the table with a menu to order $20 burger/fries, while you can stuff yourself with as much food and deserts as you like for $21 :)

Only was able to attend yesterday, and one day is never enough, but it was a GREAT SHOW!!! For sure, bigger than least year, despite CoV and a number of manufacturers from Asia not being able to attend.

Always enjoy talking to different manufacturers, Head-fi crew, and other head-fiers attending the show!

And my traditional signature picture at the end of the day with @jude , actually taken this year by Steve Guttenberg (audiophiliac) himself while he was standing next to Axel Grell. Yep, you get a chance to see/meet some real legends at the show :)

Will work on show report later...
Waiting for Alex's review on his buffet experience :dt880smile:

Curious if the Drop Panda was on display and any comments regarding them. On the fence whether to pull the trigger.

I honestly don't know - I went in to the show hoping one stood out more - probably my lack of experience - to me the auteur does nothing wrong, but the verite brought out the extra little details on certain instruments - but listening to the auteur alone on the zdt Jr and Glenn otl, I couldn't find anything to fault
Reading your notes - sounds to me like the Verite was the clear winner for you!
Yeah, the Auteur did nothing wrong, but the Verite "brought out the extra little details"...

Has anyone heard of these Simphonio V1 iems? Seems to be targeting the single-driver iem tier of the Luna/A8000.

Any retailer brands have it for display on their benches?

I am a very strong fan of their earbuds, but never realized they had iems. Except it randomly appeared in my search box in Penonaudio's website as I was looking up the Luna's specifications.
The Simphonio VR1, you mean?
So far only available in Japan, China & Vietnam i think

I auditioned pretty much all the line of Zmf and I found the earpads affect the sound signature, I liked the verite closed and eikon closed where my favorites. I think Eikon had better resolution and deeper bass.

The dCS Bartok; Audio Valve Solaris, and HEDD headphones were the top highlights for me. Couldn't find Fiio anywhere though, did they drop out or are they on tomorrow?
I bet the Bartok and Heddphone were a great combo. The Bartok is my End Game I hope one day to reach.

It is a nice piece. I liked the treble better than on the v3+, but would certainly have to audition longer to fully verify that. The bass is light as compared to my Anole VX, but my VX is custom and way more expensive. But it was still good. I will say this though, the Dunu Luna impressed me more. Now that is $600.00 more, but I felt it just sounded right, if you know what I mean. I want to say the bass was better and the treble was smoother yet detailed, but I listened to them hours apart and listening memory is completely unreliable. I can say that I was not wowed but the Mest, but impressed at its quality and price. The Luna just hit me and if I bought one of the two, I would save up and wait for the Luna. Of course if you could get a deal from MusicTeck ( they had the UM’s at their tables) then the Mest’s price to performance ratio might swing even higher. Tks.
How was the Mest's fit and finish?

Spent some time with @Eric Chong at the Eletech booth. Tried both the Plato and the Iliad; the Plato sounded surprisingly well with my EE Zeus, I was afraid the combination was going to be too bright, but instead the cable increased the body of the presentation, especially thickening the treble, a great, unexpected paring.
The Iliad sounded good with the Zeus but not great, while it shined with the A18t.

Thanks for the feedback. Could i ask in what way it made the A18t shine? I have the A18t but the cost of the Iliad puts me off....
