I tried out the Shanling M8T, and I found the differences between Tube Mode and Transistor Mode to be very drastic. Tube Mode renders every segment of the frequency range as warm, natural, and very detailed. The background is also pitch black. Tube Mode needs a few seconds to warm up. Transistor Mode sounds much brighter by comparison. I should also note how fluid the UI is. I would have bought that player in a heartbeat. Everything about it screams quality.

None... Pretty sure.Btw anyone knows who carries Flipears in EU?
I tried it. I was surprised how good it was honestly. Definitely worth the price tag in my opinionDid anyone see this Shanling? It's like a Liric and a Cascade got busy in the back of a Buick Skylark.

How much was it? I thought the @Fosi Audio headphone was great for its sub $600 price.I tried it. I was surprised how good it was honestly. Definitely worth the price tag in my opinion
I own the Atrium Closed and this was my impression too. I almost picked up a JOAL from the show, but the only show discounts for the JOAL was 20% off the demo units that everyone had been using for the past 2 days. Didn’t seem worth it and I’d rather just pick up a new pair, which I very well might do.I own the JOAL as well as have owned both Atrium with my current pair being closed, but the open pair just left last week. The JOAL is what I expected from Abyss. Has the house sound profile, strong bass response, resolving, clean, a bit warm, great in all categories honestly and I’ve been blown away by them.
Compared to the JOAL, the Atrium models are much more warm and lush, but I don’t feel they are as detailed as JOAL.
I love all three which is why they’ve all been in the collection. I don’t see the AC or JOAL leaving my stable anytime soon.

Any Sendy Aiva 2 impressions?
Yeah, the Fosi planar was a nice surprise too. I can't find much information about it on the web so I guess it has not yet been released in the US?How much was it? I thought the @Fosi Audio headphone was great for its sub $600 price.

@thedoc31 so which is better for you tastes between Jet Black and Maven II ? Maven II is also cheaper than Jet Black(with cable).
Jet Black $1699
Good all around bass
Slight sibilance top end
Smooth, mostly flat except high end boost
Maven II $1799
Full, settled, very balanced tuning
Very slight sibilance at high end but not awful

I think a few months is what they said and @Audio46 will carry them. This was how our conversation went...
Me: Is this plastic? It feels like plastic.
Fosi: No it's wood.
Me: Is it veneer?
Fosi: No it's wood.
Me: Veneer... like a Hifiman.
Fosi: No it's wood.
Me: Why'd you put your logo here like this?
Fosi: Are you a distributor?
Me: ... the wood looks nice.

I loved the Fiio Echo Mini so much that I went for it. Getting mine tomorrow.

Agreed, I tried it too, I was just surprised how huge it is. I was thinking to myself, maybe I can use it commuting on the subway, then I saw it. lol

Agreed, I'm debating between the Echo Mini and the JM21 as something I can pocket on the commute while still carrying two smartphones, one for work, one for personal. The JM21 is easier navigation.

good for YOUThere are a few items in the hifi world that I don't find attractive. I tend to make posts about the things I DO like, instead. The Sparta motif looks fine to me.
I'll wait and buy the plain version.

I talked with a Chord distributor about UWB (Ultrawide Band) Technologies and how it might provide almost seamless wireless connectivity. I really hope Chord would consider implementing UWB in their portable DACs. It might be a game-changer for wireless DACs. The only real downside to UWB is its accuracy. It's up to 5 meters. The range on the other hand is up to 200 meters.
