And yet another location that absolutely doesn't need a Canjam! Why?!! Please go to audio-starved cities

Oh, this is exciting! I may be able to sync up a business trip with this and get 2 CanJam's in 3 months. Fingers crossed.

Interesting... I like this! Considering the timing, will this affect when/how CanJam NYC happens? Fully realize this may not be worked out so early but it was a thought that came to me.

Question: now that Hong Kong is in full Chinese government control, does it have the same Visa requirements as the other Chinese City CanJam? Will people be restricted to the city and such?

Visiting Hong Kong is visa free for over 170 countries. This applies for visits to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region only, and is not applicable for visits to mainland China, which do require a visa. Thanks for the link. For those not planning to read all of that, the site states American visitors have 90 days of visit without need of a Visa. However, you can’t leave Hong Kong to tour other places. I’m glad Hong Kong is still Visa free.

For the international travellers: as you inevitably buy Bakehouse eggtarts, make sure to buy a few extra to store in your fridge. IMO, they taste even better than when freshly baked (don't fight me on this) :sunglasses:.

Close, but not entirely correct as 75+ countries have an exemption for visiting Macau. And since Macau regularly has spectacularly discounted airline tickets that may be the cheapest way to get in and out. Do research your options to get to Hong Kong and back though including the timing part. It's a completely different vibe so if you have time on your side...

Example: If you’re from the US and you’ve already booked a flight from Hong Kong to Chengdu, and a flight from Chengdu back to the US, you can apply for a 144-hour visa-free stay when you arrive at Chengdu Airport. And the 144-hour period starts at 00:00 on the day following your entry (for example, if you enter Chengdu on January 20th, the 144 hours will start counting from the 21st).

However, there are some VERY IMPORTANT rules to keep in mind:
  1. Different Departure and Destination Countries: If you’re flying from Hong Kong to Sichuan, you cannot return to Hong Kong. The departure and destination countries must be different.
  2. Confirmed Ticket Requirement: You must have a confirmed onward ticket with a set date and seat before entering China. If you haven’t purchased your departure ticket yet, you won’t be eligible for the visa-free transit.
  3. It’s important to note that in most cases, you will be required to exit the country through one of the same ports that are permitted for entry. In most cases, this will be the same port as the one you arrived through.
  4. If you have any uncertainties, check with your local embassy’s notice or contact the relevant authorities!
For detailed information, please refer to your local embassy's notice. Here are some reference sources for you:

By the way, for most of you, Macau’s entry policies might be as relaxed as Hong Kong’s.

Just remember not to gamble away all your budget buying headphone when visiting Macau—and don’t forget to enjoy a delicious egg tart while you’re there!

I think most from the West will have language barrier due to far less people being fluent in English in HK compared to SG. If this was held in the Philippines instead, there’d be literally zero language barrier since 90% of Filipinos can understand and communicate in English at least on the intermediate level
