Have any of my fellow Canadians here at Head-Fi made any purchases from Meier-Audio? I am contemplating making a purchase but I cannot figure out how much duty I will end up paying - and that is a significant factor in determining whether or not to pull the trigger. If it is just a fixed rate and someone can tell me - I'd appreciate it. I cannot find information regarding this on either CanadaPost.com or on the Customs and Border Services web page.

Cheers,
Clutz

Customs fees are negligable for most purchases. It's more or less GST/PST on the declared value. The declared value is almost always lower than the actual cost so its favourable.

For instance duty on an SFT Dynahi PP ($600US) was $40CAD. I just pulled the trigger on some Beyer 880 from Meier $210US and expect duty to be well even less

Hmm. That's what I was thinking about doing too..

So likely all I will pay is the tax on it if I had bought an item of that value in Canada? I don't mind that at all.. I just didn't want to get assessed 30% duty in addition to the tax..
