If you're talking about a digital equalizer like the DEQ2496 or BFD, yes. Many people do this. If you're talking about an old-style analog graphic equalizer, no, because they're designed to only attenuate the signal by a certain maximum amount, usually 6 or 10dB.
I have an ADC Sound Shaper 11 and a trunk sub with a pair of Paradigm Titans.....do you think that I could supplement the low end using the EQ and the sub sans a crossover.
I will get a "real" sub when I get a job, but being unemployed brings out the tinker'r in me.
You can try it. Might be better than nothing, might not, depends on whether being able to localize lower midrange sounds from the sub bothers you or not.
