So I added a Visa debit card to Paypal, but I can't seem to add the fund on the debit card to the overall Paypal balance.

Any ideas how I can do that?

TIA.

It doesnt work that way. Whenever you buy something and you dont have money in your Paypal account the money gets automatically deducted from that debit card. Your actual paypal balance doesnt go up or down unless you transfer money from you checking account into the paypal account or receive money as a transfer from another paypal account.

Can money sent to your Paypal account be transferred to your bank account? I'm a complete newbie at this stuff. How do most of the paypal-involved transactions on the head-fi for sale forums work anyway?

Oooh, icic.

But can I choose where the payment comes out of?

Yes, on the last screen when you're about to finish your payment there should be a link in the payment method box that says "More Funding Options". Click on that and you can choose where you want the balance of your funds to be withdrawn from.

Hope that helps.

yes, funds can be transfered from your paypal account to your checking account via an ach push. typically takes 2-3 days.

Paypal makes sending money either via DDA ach pull or credit card from one individual to another simple. and that is about the best thing that can be said for paypal.
