Hi...I am looking for a good portable headphone (not earphone)?

To give you an idea I have a Sennheiser PX100 that I love alot. The sound is good but is their a better headphone for portables out there?

I also heard about the KSC-75 & the Koss Portapro but anything else that will top all these.

I am willing to pay the cost & it has to be able to work without a portable amplifier.

Any comments or suggestions appreciated.

Thank You All.

I can recommend the KSC75 but I haven't used many cheap headphones. I did try the PX-100 and I wonder if mine were defective in some way because they sounded quite bad to my ears. HF was a train wreck, I can't understand how they get good marks.

I use my KSC75 with a 2G shuffle for 5 to 6 hours most days at my work, they remain comfortable to me with no modification or adjustments.

the ksc75 is nice and defnatly great value. if u have the budget and like a more romantic and euphonically musical sound, try the ATH ES7. once broken in, they sound phenomenal outta ipod headout and believe it or not, much better with a good amp

Okay out of all these portable headphones mentioned above...which one is my best choice for good clarity.

Koss KSC75 has good bright sound, and is cheap. Sennheiser PX100 is bit warm sounding, so no real clarity here. PortaPro is like KSC75, but has headband, and more bassier sound. All three are the kings in cheap portable cans category. (especially PortaPro has been a sort of legendary for many years)

If you want clarity the KSC75 is a big step up from the PX100 imho, buy it and remember to keep the receipt for the life time warranty. Random trivia: I tested the phones side by side unamped with a U3 and I'd definitely go with the KSC75 over the PX100 just because of the clarity. You shouldn't have any trouble selling your PX100 when you get your KSC75s, they are after all quite ok for the price.
