It seems like HD580/HD600/HD650 share similar parts like its cable and grills that you can sort of mix and match.

I'm just curious if anyone here ever tried getting a HD650 driver and put them in their HD580/HD600? are they the same size that you can easily change them. If you have done so what do you think of the sound?

im not 100% sure on this one.

580 and 600 are the same. 650 is different.

Seems like the consensus was that it was more cost effect to simply sell the 600 and buy a 650.

Sure, just buy some 650's and take the drivers out.

It seems like based on that link its possible to do so but the problem is getting 2 drivers that are unmatched although i dont know how much of a problem this is.

Well the idea is that you can sort of have hd600/hd650 interchangeable phone at the price of maybe 1.5 of the hd600
