can you build a line out cable for an ipod?

I am almost about to buy the sik din ram to use with the amp im getting, but im wondering if it is possible to build a cable that only has line out for the ipod. Where could you get a male ipod dock connector?

just for future reference,anything with an internal analog line level stage can have a line out added.The trick is to know where by identifying each chip and downloading the data sheets then make the determination if you need to add a series capacitor for AC coupling to the next stage.
you may also find most portable device line outs do not have enough voltage drive to be useable with a power amp and will need another gain stage added in between to player and amp or your volume control will always be at or near maximum just to get a listenable level.
