I've heard of a few:

K81DJ
ATH-ES7

Not a big fan of Grados, but any other brand would do..

EDIT: It will be used with an iPod nano unamped (but not necessarily outdoors, I just walk around the house) so there're a few limitations set by that..

currently have: E4c's and V-moda Remix

I wonder if it would be considered in bad form to suggest looking at the Alessandro brand of headphones?

I had the MS1's for a while, and coming out of my 2G nano they didn't have punchy enough bass at the mid-low end, which explains the preference of not Grados.

Using my E4c's right now which I think have the perfect amount.

Ah, but have you heard the SR-60 or SR-80? You might think differently.

I just listened to abunch of Grados: SR60, SR80, SR125 & SR225 at http://www.hawthornestereo.com/. At first the SR60's had the comfies and they didn't sound so great, like a C+/B-. The highs were blanketed some what, and the bass was not very clean. But when I switched out the comfies with bowls, the sound change was night and day. They were much more detailed and accurate, but I lost alot of the low bass.

Anywho, I really liked the SR80's sound even though there was not alot of bass thumping. The 80's gave me a much more detailed sound & soundstage. I was listening to the Ultrasone S-Logic Demo CD, on track 5 I could hear the pianist's bench/seat creak and crack as they played. On track 10 in the beginning there is a person coughing in the background and with the SR80's I heard that cough very clear, and could almost point out where they were sitting.

In the $100 range, i'm shamelessly evangelizing the Equation RP-21, which can be had for anywhere between $99 and $150.

Closed cans, circum-aural, about the same level of bass as you'd get from a DT-770 with mids that are cleaner, almost fluid. 32-ohm and easily driven by portable devices.

Find a dealer, go have a listen:
