How do you hook up an amp with rca to rca interconnects on the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum? It seems to have only line outs? Do you need to connect it to a line out?

I have the older soundblaster platinum and I just use an 1/8th inch to RCA cable to connect the line out to the RCA inputs on my amplifier. I figure that the audigy still retains the 1/8th inch line out, so you should still be able to do the exact same thing with your sound card.

Thanks for all of the comments. I guess I just didn't want to face the facts that I didn't have an RCA to mini adapter. I will try to hold off crying because I have to wait until tomorrow to go to Radio Shack.

When I first realized this problem, I thought about suicide. But then after a while of convincing to myself to wait 1 day, which is 24 hours, which is 1440 minutes, which is... oh no! I can't wait that long! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again for the replies.

Since you have a pretty nice amp, you might want to consider something better than what Rat shack carries.

Here is one of the best RCA to 1/8" cables:

Yes, I realize it is expensive (they also sell a cheaper 1 foot version), but cables do make a difference.

You might also contact JMT. I believe he builds RCA-Mini cables that are of very good quality.

Edit: What you linked to is a Mini-Female RCA adapter. You want a Mini to Male RCA cable.

Mini = 1/8" = Audigy 2's output jack

RCA male fits on the female RCA jacks on your Supreme.

Umm... I'll have to kind of think about that, radrd. The price is slightly up there. Do they make really cheap cables of that type, like around $5 to $15?

In your price range, I would go with Acoustic Research:

Head to Bestbuy or anywhere else that sells them and find the most expensive AR version that you can find. They are actually supposed to be decent from what I have read.

Edit, JMT, do you think Radio Shack or AR would be better? I have no idea really.

Ahh, the ultimate in cheap cables.

Let's just put it this way: I am buying cables tomorrow even if it means I will have to quit my job, get run over by a car while sprinting to radio shack, crawl to the store with only 1 arm (since I broke both my legs and my other arm when I got run over), realise I forgot to bring money, crawl back to my house and get beaten up on the way by a bunch of 8-year olds, become unconscious because of extreme blood loss, escape from the hospital to crawl back to radio shack...

Anyway, you get my point.

For now, I will buy the cheap ones, then later when I get more money I'll get the better ones.
