Can "run-in" improve the recessed Highs of K240S?

where are the Highs of the 240S?

The highest of highs are rolled off on the k240s and will stay that way. No amount of burn in will change that. (Personally thats one of the reasons I love the k240s so much, since I tend to get easily fatigued when listening to bright phones.)

A bright source or bright amp will liven up the cans significantly, and an amp will greatly improve the sound of the k240s. But if you love highs, this will not be the can for you.

you may like the results of removing the foam discs. it helps the high-end shine through.

of course the drivers will then be exposed.
