I'm about to pick up a pair of Genelec 8240s and the only deal breaker is the fact that don't have a remote. Does anyone know if an iPhone can be used as a remote desktop (that would solve my problem since the Gens have a volume control built in to the correction software).

i'm almost certain that it can't be used as a remote desktop, but you can download the "remote" app and control itunes that way (if you use itunes).

If so, then there are a handful VNC clients for iPhone out there which allow you to do so.

Just keep in mind that none of them are that great...using a PC with a small, relatively low-resolution screen and the only input being your finger can be a tad tedious.

If you mean in terms of remotes, there is the official iTunes remote, Songbird has a remote as well, and so does Boxee.
