I am really tired of not having enough power on deck for headphones so I wam gonna invest on a proper dedicated amplifier.

The schiit magni 2 which can drive just about any headphones to satisfactory levels .

Since I already have the fiioe10k dac I want to use as a dac and myuabe a preamp . If I connect 3.5 two rca left and right the e10k into a magni what happens to the amp part of the fiio?

Can it just function as a DAC?

AFAIK the 3.5mm output on the back of the E10K works as a fixed level line out, not a variable/preamp output. You can use it as just a DAC with fixed voltage output to the Magni2, but to have a preamp control for speakers, you have to get the Magni2 Uber. That also negates the need for splitters.

Alternately the Vali2 also has preamp outputs on it.
