Does this make sense ?

I have PC --> DAC --> AMP.

If i want to add a Bluetooth connectivity can i simply do this ?

PC --> DAC --> pre-amp AUX --> AMP
.................................pre-amp BT --> Headphones

I'm trying to figure this based on the input/output i see.

Thank you.

This might be a silly question but why not BT through the PC? Just in case you want to leave it off?

Cause this way I'd have the signal pass through the DAC no? I wanted to get a BT while at the same time see for myself if having a pre-amp before my amp was giving anything to the sound ( for my wired headphones ).You know... 2 birds with one stone. There is nothing like trying out yourself. I have a tiny NS-08E and wanted to pair it with a similar tube pre-amp. I'm just not sure if this make sense to drive BT headphones from a pre-amp. Like does it even work ? Do you absolutely need a BT amp paired with it ?

BT can only transmit digital signals so you would either need to place it before your DAC or have an alternative DAC with BT functionality. You could get a preamp with a BT DAC built in and switch between sources but you'd likely be tossing SQ when running wired doing so unless it has a passthrough.
A secondary DAC with BT + a source selector(if you're trying to avoid swapping around cables) is the best way to go about it IMO.

OK, just to clarify--are you trying to stream music over BT from your phone, etc. through some device hooked up to your amp, then use wired headphones? Because you mentioned BT headphones.

Well that's one pretty relevant piece of info I was missing. From that point I'll rethink the whole thing.
But to be sure I get it, this mean if I have Source --> DAC --> BT Amp then my BT headphones won't benefit from the DAC ?

Thank you.

No no.. Source is my PC. It goes through a DAC then my AMP to my wired beyers. Since I had seen a nice and cheap BT tube pre-amp I thought I could fit it in there to see what it does for my DT990 as well as getting BT for another pair. Seem like it won't work like I thought.

No benefit. A 'BT amp' would just be an amp with a BT DAC of its own built in. This is perhaps unintuitive if there's no other digital inputs.

Worth remembering for what it's worth the max bandwidth of a perfect Bluetooth connection cannot handle a hi-res Flac file stream with our dropping bits.
I have a pair of Sony MX4 coming. I read about the codec stuff and the LDAC inside this model. Is there any way to know what bandwidth you get from your source ? Let's say i use Amazon HD. From what i read i must avoid the lower 330kbps bandwidth which is even worst then SBC.
