Can I use a Fender Deluxe 85 with my Sennheiser HD 558s?

I'm very new to the whole audio scene and by browsing around different sites I eventually came to the conclusion that I should purchase some Sennheiser HD 558s as "entry-level" headphones. They've been absolutely phenomenal since I got them compared to what I used to use, but recently I've seen a lot of discussion about how an Amp/DAC can really improve sound quality and overall enjoyment, even for headphones with less impedance like mine.
So my question that I pose to you all-knowing members of the Head-Fi community is this - should I use an Amp/DAC? And if yes, can I use an old Fender Deluxe 85 that I happen to still have instead of buying one specifically for headphones? It somewhat strikes me that this may be a question with a very obvious answer, but as I said, I'm very new to the audio scene, and have basically zero knowledge on the subject, AND the Fender amp was not mine to begin with, so I don't really know anything about it at all.
Thanks in advance for any advice/help.
