Can I use 75ohms video cables as audio interconnects in a pinch?
Can't afford any audio cables now and have some cheap 75ohm beldon cables around.
would like to used them to between amp and pre amp.

better use 93Ohm I believe, RG62 coax cable.. lower capacity is what counts there and RG62 it the one you need..

the impedience of an audio cable doesn't matter, anything from 10 ohms to 10,000 ohms should work fine. In fact, a belden wire (89259) is 75 ohm and tends to sound wonderful

the impedance only really comes into play over long cable runs. So, in a pinch, it will work. I wouldn't recommend it for any kind of a permanent situation though. It won't hurt anything, you'll just be prone to reflections and other nasties on your interconnects.

So you're enjoying those IC's I sold you eh? How did that test you did on them turn out?

I haven't gotten them yet, eric is still toying around with design ideas on them, i've built some other 89259 IC's though before, and they tend to sound pretty good. The reason why i bought your cables is that i couldn't DIY them for that price

I second glassman. It is easy to find the capacitence per foot of coax cables (it's a standard spec for coax's), and the lower the capacitence per foot, the less likely you will run into problems.
RG6 is pretty good in that area.

For line ics in usual lengths that's true - but not for phono use, especially with mc pickups.

Well, yeah, there are exceptions to what i said, but in a traditional analog IC, it's not your first consern.
