Can I buy/have someone make an attenuating cable?

I recently bought a MacBook Pro, and was planning to use my Super.Fi 5 Pros with it. I was rather disappointed to find that MBP has a very high noise floor. Right now I'm using the 5 Pros with the included attenuator and the results are quite good. Unfortunately, because this attenuator is one solid piece which causes the jack to extend out by another inch or so, its not practical for use with my MBP.

So, the real question is this: Would it be possible for someone to custom make an SF5 Pro cable with a inline attenuator for me? Or does someone know of an existing attenuator with a low profile right angle plug like on the SF5 Pro itself?

You could always buy an amp.

An amp would work well, but you'd want something like the Move or a separate USB DAC to take care of the nose otherwise you'll only be amplifying it too.

If you measure the resistance of the attenator where you like it I can build you an adapter with that resistance value.
