Can DT880's be driven properly by a cmoybb amp?

Hi
I'm interested in the DT 880's as my first high end headphone, and I know they need an amp, but after buying the cans my budget can only accommodate an amp like the cmoybb. Would that be an effective combo?

Thanks.

I can't say for sure. I have DT990 pro and recently bought a used GoVbe 5 for$50 here and it drives them very well for a portable. I had a little dot mini and that didn't drive them as well. I would suggest you look for a better amp in the F/S forum. For what that amp costs you can get a better amp here as long as you don't mind used stuff.

My DT880 is driven nicely by a Cmoy. I have a DIY 18V version though, but I doubt that a 9V version sounds significantly thinner or so.

Hint: You better order your Cmoy with a LM4562 Opamp, that is the super-detail-super-soundscape chip. It sounds best with a low gain (not more than 3, mine just has a gain of 2). Nothing very complicated for the guy who builds it.
