***REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED***

See you at Parramatta this Sunday at 2pm!

This started off from me missing out on Can Con 4 and wanting to have a meet - and when I floated the idea around doing a mini-meet in the Parramatta area and met with some real support. So, let's get this going!

I've never been to a meet in the past, let alone organising one, so I'm going to follow the model of the Can Con 4. It looked like the organisers had very good strict rules which are meant to assure the safety of participants and their equipment. Please see the rules as detailed in the Can Con 4 thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/704873/can-con-4-sydney-australia-meet

The main rules: (updated 24/7)

1. At the entrance to the room, you will need to register your name, and you'll get a namebadge with your head-fi username. Please keep it on while in the room.
2. Price: If everyone who registered will show up, the price will be about $15 per person. If some won't show up, I might ask for donations to help me cover the room hire - only if you can afford it. But hopefully everyone who registered will attend so this won't be an issue.
3. No food/drinks, there will be water available but please drink only in the kitchenette area to avoid any unwanted accidents around the gear.
4. Please bring your own source, and multipliers if you can (there are only 4 sockets in the room, so we need people to bring multipliers).
5. Please try to get there on time (2pm) so we can set up quickly and have enough time to check out all the great gear around us!

FAQ (UPDATED 21/7)

When & where? Sunday 27/7, 2pm-4:30pm, at Parramatta Library (Retro Room).

What should I do now? If you are possibly interested, please write in the comments: (1) general availability on weekends (early arvo probably); (2) any particular late July / August weekends that you won't be able to make; and (3) what headphones & other equipment can you bring.

Venue and price? Parramatta library. The price will be determined by the final list of attendees. The price for the room is $156.25, so if there are 10 of us, it'll be about $15 per person.

I can't wait!! Hope to see you all soon!

I'm in! Missed out on the last one.

Can bring along HE-500 with regular cable and upgraded Headphone Lounge cable, Westone 4R, MS2i and the Magnum X's if I can get around to building them. Also Bifrost, Asgard, WA6 and NFB12 depending on interest in them.

Saturday afternoon works for me

I would definitely be interested in having a look at the Schiit stuff and the WA6 if you can be bothered carrying them

What's your "engine of choice" to power the HE-500s? I should be getting mine tomorrow, with the grill mod and aftermarket cables. I also ordered the new pads of the HE-560.

I updated the gear list - holy hell that's looking so impressive already! and what's really interesting is that there are almost no repeats in the headphones list - there are 2 HE500s and 2 HD650s, but with different mods they would be interesting to compare and contrast!

I'll lug them around if there isn't much walking distance :p

I have them linked in with the NFB12 and the WA6. I'm not a super high volume listener so the WA6 with some big tubes sounds pretty slick to me
