I think the M@H40 is a reproduction of the old Senn HD40 with lower impedance than the original. I had a pair of HD40s when I was an adolescent, and I got rid of them because they just didn't sound very good. In retrospect, I probably couldn't drive them properly with my Walkman (they have something like 200 ohms impedance). Supposedly, they sound pretty nice when driven properly. I don't know how the M@H40 sounds.

judging from that website they don't actually have them in stock (7 days shipping vs. 2 for other models), and I would be surprised if senn is still filling orders on these.

That is definitely an HD414 frame, which senn sold in various forms and names over decades. An original HD414 is supposed to be a pretty good headphone even now, provided you've got serious enough amping to drive through their 2000 ohms. The latter-day revival of the HD414 used a different, low-impedance driver and I remember reading one scandalized review from some guy with an audio lab who went about proving in merciless detail that the new version couldn't hold a candle to the original. Since the originals do come up for auction pretty often and tend to sell for ca. 20-30 euros, I'd say vintage would be a better bet.
