Campfire - Solaris

I know right. I am trying to find a CIEM but know that I will miss Solaris. My only options are A12t and VE8. A12t is a sidegrade/slight downgrade. I hope VE8 is better.

I own the OG Solaris as well as a VE8 now that just arrived a few days ago, really liking the VE8 so far. To me they actually sound more coherent than the Solaris.

My Custom eartip fit to U12t...
hmm.. want to force to like it... but Dynamic Driver still preferable in my ear...

also try to Trio & fourte with my custom eartip...

Yeah, I still keep Solaris OG...
btw, I was diagnose my sound sig is Dark Warm with Transparency... hahaha...
this is based on my daily, DX220 AMP8EX-FE - Brise - Solaris OG

edit.. just want to share..
Solaris to QPm... hiss... but consider still enjoyable then Qp1r or Qp2r...
o yeah... QPm balanced is 4.4mm... Nice...

You got so many toys bro, let me play with them for awhile

What do you mean by "coherent"?

Any comparisons between the VE8 and Solaris?

I have a VE8 now and am in the process of formulating some impressions. VE8 is really really nice.

Hello, has anyone compared or have had Solaris and Viento-B Universal. Looking for an upgrade from my current Andromeda. Need an all rounder IEM that serves genres such as Rock, Jazz Fusions, Progressive Rock and Metal, Pop, and so on.
Thanks!

How the notes sound, where instruments are, how everything sounds as a whole together? My terminology may not be right, I’m not good at descriptive writing lol.

Coherence as I understand is the ability of multiple drivers to produce a single "coherent" sound signature which manifests as though it's coming from a single source rather than multiple sources. It's a lot easier to pull off when you're dealing with either one driver or multiples of a single type of driver. It becomes vastly more difficult when you're dealing with two or more types of driver.

Edit: And to be fair coherence is one of Solaris' strong suits, even if it comes as a trade off...but something like the VE8, which is all BA, does have the deck stacked in its favor at the outset.

I don't understand what you mean here. Music itself is coming from different sources. When you're in front of an orchestra the sound is coming from different sources and it is very natural.

The way I understand coherence is if you have 2 drivers playing the same note (frequency), the sound from both drivers should be in phase, such that following the interference of the two sound waves, the note is preserved (the opposite of active noise cancelling).

I have never had the opportunity to try a device for which you can control the level of coherence (e.g. a device with 2 speakers playing tones with a phase difference that can be fine tuned by the user) so if I was to hear lack of coherence, then I don't think I'd be able to identify it as such. I wonder how many people who use this term in their descriptions actually have a clear understanding of what they mean, or if it's a catch-all phrase for "it sounds off to me".

Already... even used longer then U12t, to compare AMP9 and cable... for me, I prefer U18t, Although Technically U12t is more noticeable from the time you plug in your ear...
but hybrid is more on my ear than full BA setup

edit : and luckily for me, I am still with Solaris OG... although still curious on hybrid from Erlkonig Elysium... too bad I miss demo it in Singapore...
