Campfire - Solaris

I agree - the Solaris has the potential to bring rumble to the table, but only if you use an EQ or an external amplifier. Don't get me wrong, I love the Solaris for what it is, but I'd just like a pinch more mid-bass slam, without having to resort to FR adjustments or 3rd-party solutions. :)

I do not use EQ!!!! The cables I used are $$$, no argument there. I sold my Vega's to a coworker, but was too slow to order an Andromeda Gold (which was awesome when I heard it at ZMFesitvus

I looked this up. Thanks, it was very interesting and made for a good laugh. :)

Your enjoyment is my paramount concern.

Lol this forum is entertaining.

On a Solaris note, I just thought to hook the Solaris up to the ES100 using the 2.5 balanced and I'm surprised at how good it sounds! Usually only use the ES100 with crappy earphones while walking around for portability while the CUBE gets the quality time at home but there is definitely a synergy here. Worth a try if you have it lying around!

This might be a little off-topic but what frequency range do you guys consider "mid-bass"?

Jacob vs Goliath...

Now I know why Khan is a perfect pair for Solaris... The pairing create great Bass texture...
Excel Vocal... with a bit smooth Treble....
With High Gain, Volume 1 is already too much. Mid gain, I need Volume 5.
U need to seek the Hiss, but felt nothing when the song played...

R2R2000, HISS.................. but it was powerfull, I can said more then my daily DAP.
Low Gain, My Volume only 4. I really like the size...
Based on the owner said.. R2 have option for HiFi (only 4 hours) or Eco (8 hours++)

This baby is like Tube.. 40 minutes playing, the timbre come alive... hahaha
Pairing with this Cable make R2R2000 worthy.

UPG001Ref... stop reading if you not a cable believer... but I was supprise that it really can reduce R2 Hiss... and it seems can fullfill my Vocal / Mid desire...

in the end, My impluse buying is the cable... hehehe.. Have a nice weekend...

Nice pics there mate.... I used the SR15 with my Solaris (3.5mm) which is nice and no hiss but once I then added the mojo I really enjoyed the response from the Solaris... I can’t stop grinning as I listen I must look psychotic..! . I nearly went with the Kann but although it has the amp which I would have liked I really wanted the AK Connect and going up to the cube wasn’t an option at the moment....

I am still not sure if it’s my ‘hearing brain’ or not but I found that the Solaris with the SR15 is not as good as they are with my iPhone XS Max...

Forgive me, I've never read any of this thread.

I just wanted to proclaim, the OG Andromeda served as my gateway "drug" to the Solaris, which I just received today and am enjoying my honeymoon with right now. I've never been so in love with a new toy. Currently listening out of my Pioneer XDP-300R, and Grace Design m920 with an IE match.

Subscribed.

Carry on.

I've gone a year and some change without my amps (in storage) but now they have returned. A four way stacking sessions with the Solaris will finally now begin.

Brise UPG001Ref, was using it a whole day yesterday. When I went back to my regular Cable, I noticed some thing is not the same.
Point highlight :
- the Detail 3D Imaging.
Never complaint with Solaris regarding Soundstage or how it immersed 3D Imaging. Even the Narrow Soundstage of pairing with Note8 still Wide compare to other IEM (Polaris).
Brise can add more detail into it.
- Mid Frequency correction.
There is nothing wrong with Solaris Mid/Vocal. Since my Cup of tea is changing to Mid Centric, and I still love my Solaris, and DO NOT WANT to change it, so this UP001ref really make Mid /Vocal stand out (not make it Forward).
- Reduce Hiss background,
Yes, it does, not like reduce to none, but IMO, 40-50%, I tried this with R2R2000... and It does...

It's amazing what cables can do these days.
