Has anyone reading this had the chance to listen to both of these iems? Which would I be better off with? Or even those who have heard the Orion and the ER4XR (I prefer the price tag of the ER3), which do you prefer and why? The etymotic intrigues me, but it looks like it would be pretty uncomfortable. Would either of these need an amp? I listen to music of all genres.

Campfire Orion or Etymotic ER3XR?

I can give you some input on the ER4XR (I own it):
Pros:
- crystal clear vocals
- good upper and lower extension
- good mid-bass quantity and accuracy
- fast attack and decay (won't sound muddy for fast songs)
- very good customer service (based on my way experience)
Perfect for: acoustic and female vocals (ex: folk). Podcasts and sport steaming.
Cons:
- small and intimate soundstage
- require deep insertion
- dry and analytical (it's not "musical") imo
- lack of sub-bass quantity
Would I buy again? Yes. For its price, there's nothing else that matches its neutrality and accuracy imo (except for the ER4SR).
