@FreeWheelinAudioLuv2 - that is an extensive review! If you got a YouTube channel would you mind sharing? Don’t know what the rules are for YouTube channel link sharing here but I bet you know 😀
I don't have a YT channel. Well actually, I do. lol I have the framework of my audio review YT channel, and two videos, but I haven't posted a darn thing because I'm technically a lazy azz dude LOL My bad!

No worries. There is pleasure in reading … while I watch other reviews haha

It means you will continue to sink money into a set you didn't love while convincing yourself they're worth it with the right "synergy".

Tips are cheap and make a difference but may not be the panacea. At least you can re-use tips and not be out an additional 300$ on a cable "EQ".

Plenty of people make a purchase and lose hundreds trying to justify it instead of moving on.

That's solid advice. No attitude required.

@FreeWheelinAudioLuv2 that's crazy. I didn't know Effect Audio Code24 LTD, Toxic Cables the Eddie 2, and Flash Acoustics Ultrons were KZ. Nevermind stock UM/EE are PW while FiR's stock is a silver coaxial copper jacket. Are Viking Weave headphone cables good?

I've always found it interesting that when someone says cables don't make an audible difference for them folks assume that means that person has no regard for nicer, more expensive cables and the quality craftsmanship, aesthetics, feel/hepatics/ergonomics, and other legitimate reasons that exist for buying them.

The idea that someone has to believe that cables improve sonic performance to want to spend more than a few bucks on one, particularly when they've obviously put significant money into other parts of their system, doesn't make sense to me. Cables make no sonic difference for me, but I still enjoy some of these more expensive cables that are practically pieces of art with great aesthetic appeal and ergonomics and can appreciate (and be willing to pay for) the craftsmanship and quality components that go into them.

Absolutely right.

I have never legitimately heard a cable make any difference unless it was faulty.

That, however, doesn't stop me having several thousand dollars tied up in cables (be it IEM, headphone, interconnect, USB, coaxial, optical, extension or even just adapters) just because they look good, behave well and give me pride of ownership and add a bit of additional pleasure to the whole experience of using nice gear and listening to music.

It is even nice to have a matching set of good looking interconnects and IEM or headphone cables

Can anybody recommend a CFA IEM that is ideal for jazz and/or classical music? Basically, mostly acoustic instruments that alternate between sparse and extremely dense? This is not the only kind of music I listen to, but I’m wondering how Campfire IEMs do with these genres.

I don’t know if they’re the ideal ones, but I listen to a lot of jazz and classical on the Holocene and Dark Stars and think they both sound great with these genres.

I do agree with you -- I am more than likely going to give up on the Supermoon, even tho it has several things I like. I will continue searching, but I am likely going to have to look somewhere other than CFA.

I enjoyed both the Clara and Astrolith with Art Blakey, The Platters, Guggenmos, Vangelis, Muddy Waters, Coltrane, and Bernstein.

Astrolith will present more detailed and forward but both are excellent.

Of the current models I have my favorites for jazz are the Black Star and the Supermoons. My favorites for classical are the Astrolith, though I have IEMs that I prefer over the Astroliths for classical that are less expensive from other manufacturers.

I also have to mention that I still really enjoy the Andromeda 2020s for jazz and blues as well. The Andros have some special sauce in the mids that can really give you a special experience when you're listening to small ensemble jazz that's showing off instruments like the sax, trumpet, guitar, etc that mostly live in the mids and higher. Just something to consider.

Hey all, wanted to give our HeadFi friends a bit of a headstart; we are running some specials over on the CA main site, most of which will just be for the weekend. New price on Fathom will be sticking around.

Head over and check em out! :eyes:

I can't say for jazz but Supermoon is a top choice for classical, top notch transparency, timbre, extension, layering and air. It remains superior to the Astrolith on these fronts IMHO but people may disagree - try them out if you have the chance.
