Is it surprising they’re still widely available? They came out in June 2024? Seems like Black Star sold out much quicker and was also a similarly limited run.
I think it's always a guess what will catch on. I bought a Blackstar basically blind and am really happy with it.
I'm sure its positive reception contributed to the Dark Start collab with Drop.
Extremely happy today! Finally I received the Holocene I bought last week on Campfire market; so surprised this is a pre-owned, since they’re perfect, can’t find a flaw! Great price too with the discount; too bad shipping to Europe+customs are idiotic.
Still experimenting with tips and listening to them. So far I like them!
I keep my Holocene at work, but circumstances don't allow me to use them everyday. I picked up the copper litz cable with mic from marketplace so I can take calls if I'm using it on my phone. I'm using Triclarion tips (great value) now, but switch with out Spiral Dot Divinus Velvet. I listen to all sorts of stuff, but am not a big basshead. I thought they did pretty well with deadmau5 the other day, but I do more classical or indie than dance.

I might, but I don’t know, if it fits my tastes. Do you know, if it’s good for electronic music?

I listen to mostly electronic. I’d say yes it does! It’s got a really tactile and hard hitting bass response, it adds some warmth to the sound as well and then it’s got a decent upper mid range emphasis to stop the signature from sounding too relaxed up top followed by a fair amount of treble detail too. I wouldn’t call it bright but it’s got a good level of detail and air that’s smoother and inoffensive. It depends how you want electronic music to sound. Personally I prefer more clarity and treble detail for EDM but I really liked the Clara too. I’m debating picking up the Ti for myself but I’m thinking it over a bit more.

Had the impressions done and ordered custom tips for my supermoon.
At the time I made the impressions, I also ordered a pair of custom earplugs. These plugs are stiff, supposed to go very deep and are literally painful and stressful in the ears. Not sure if these guys have good customer satisfaction score, but I can't imagine wearing these for a long time let alone sleeping in them (i ordered a sleeping plugs).

Assuming CIEM / Modulate tips aren't supposed to go all the way past the second bend until the eardrum?
I've had custom tips made before. ADV Audio and Snugs. Neither went terribly far into the ear. And neither were uncomfortable in the least. Additionally, the medical grade silicon that these manufacturers use isn't very rigid. I'd say that if you experience pain after ordering the CA sleeves, or any similar custom tip, that they need to be either refitted, or your impressions need to be done again.

ADV offers two different fits, audiophile or musician. Musician goes deeper and that’s the one I usually select. They also offer just the tip or full shell. And full shell musician fit is a lot of silicone.

Thanks Bobby, you mean the treble is smooth and rolled off or only pushed back? Do you have a comparison? Because the treble of the Astrolith for instance was more forward like a typical Campfire tuning. This was slightly too much for my tastes.

It’s not like Astrolith. It doesn’t roll off in the sense that it lacks air or extension. It just doesn’t have a whole lot of low/mid treble emphasis and I find that’s an area that most people (myself included) tend to find offensive if overly emphasized whereas the Clara feels a little softer and more relaxed here. It makes for something that’s bassy, warm but well balanced and fatigue free imo.

I got my Holocene from the market a couple of years ago too - they were listed as Preowned (Good) but also I honestly couldn't detect even the slightest scratch or imperfection. They're still my only CFA but I really love them a lot.

I had no idea. Where do you select that? I've only ever seen options for tip/full shell and IEM model.

I've been thinking about sending my Astroliths into them as they aren't on the list. And if they do a deeper custom tip, that might just put me over the edge.

What type of Triclarion tips should I pair with the Holocene? I see a few different size options on Amazon

Hmm they removed the option, I got my tips 18mo ago, if you request deeper, I’m sure they will oblige.

That depends on your ears. See which of the OEM tips work best to get an idea of your size. And all manufacturers have different size schemes. A medium is not the same depending on who makes it. I have tips marked Medium that range from 12.0-12.6mm, but a Final E Large is only 12.5. It's always best to find a size chart. They usually have a diameter in mm somewhere so you can compare between brands..

The first one. At least that’s what Amazon says I bought.
